3. Career Self-Reflection Report – In this report, you will pull together meaning and insight from your Career Portfolio, your Career Themes, and the theories/readings/concepts covered in the module in order to tell your career story – past, present, and future.
You are essentially doing a case study on yourself. In doing so, you need to demonstrate that you understand the module theories/readings/concepts and can show how they apply to you as you reflect on your career and life. The report will include four sections: a. You will start your report by completing an MY Initial Views and Plans Sheet (which is not part of the word count of the Report). These are your views and your plans at the very start of PM4108. Specifically, you are to include:
i. A brief summary of what you’re studying and what year you’re in. ii. A short description (perhaps 100-300 words) of what your career plan was on Day 1 of the module. You will describe your plans and indicate how clear they were and how happy you were about them.
iii. Your definition/view of what a career is (and maybe isn’t) at the start of the lecture in Week 1 (i.e., before any group discussions or viewing of pictures of different occupations).
iv. Your definition/view of what career success is at the start the module. This will be asked specifically on slides 4-5 of the second pre-recorded lecture in Week 2.
b. You will then discuss your past. Some of the module content focuses on child and adolescent career development theories. You will discuss how these, and other theories/readings/concepts/exercises.
