Your Final Project is worth 200 points. You are to watch the movie, My Big Fat Greek Wedding, starring Nia Vardalos. You can access the movie for free from multiple sites or through a number of streaming services you currently subscribe.
After reading the Overview and watching the movie, students are required to do a minimum 3 (three) page single-space (Times New Roman, 12) paper on the questions in the Final Prompt (located below). There is NO maximum length. This paper will have to closely follow the chapters in the book and the Learning Outcomes of the course.

Using the information provided in the book chapters, PowerPoints, and objectives from
this course, please address the following:
What is the influence of family culture on individual’s self, personality, life style,
attitude and behavior?
Explain the interpersonal relationships and cultural conflicts among family
members and between different families.
Provide examples of the following topics that have been demonstrated
throughout the movie:
How does visible culture and/or hidden culture come into play in these
intercultural relationships? Be specific.
Compare and contrast Toula’s family and Ian’s family in the following areas:
o Direct/Indirect communication
o Emotional expression
o Low/High context communication
Does traditionalism bring complications that are then affected by emotions and
