1. What problem does the policy aim to address? State the problem in a sentence of two.

2. Describe the pros and cons of the current global policy,

3. Who has a stake in IIPY vaccine policy? What are the interests of the primary stakeholdets in the case. and how might these interests place practical limits on evidence•based standards for global health policy? e. What are the ethical considerations associated with compliance or noncompliance with the policy?

Scenario
Terms of reference (TOR)’ for these new bodies must be drafted within one month for consideration as a regulatory act in Parliament. What considerations should you weave into this proposed new policy? What should be the essential roles and responsibilities of the new community health center governing councils? How should you help the members of these governing bodies become educated about good board work? Consider these questions as you begin your journey into the realm of good board work as presented in this chapter.

COVID-19 Testing
During the COVID-19 pandemic, testing is relied upon heavily to help develop prevention and control measures. The validity of tests used can impact individual and community decisions and ultimately COVID-19 related morbidity and mortality.

Instructions
For this assignment, see “Serology-based tests for COVID-19” (Links to an external site.) from the Johns Hopkins Center for Health Security. This article discusses the sensitivity and specificity of serology-based tests for COVID-19.

From the Johns Hopkins list of serology-based tests, select two different types of serology assays from two different manufacturers and answer the following questions:

Describe, compare, and contrast each test including a discussion on sensitivity and specificity. Is one test better than the other?
Discuss how these tests might be available to the community. For example, are they easily accessible and inexpensive?
When screening large groups for COVID-19, would you select a less valid test in exchange for ease of use, patient comfort, or cost? Meaning, if the specific test was cheaper or easier to use, would you choose this type of test even if it meant compromising test validity?
What are the consequences of a false positive COVID-19 test?
What are the consequences of a false negative COVID-19 test?
Review the following article for additional information on the impact of COVID-19 test validity.

Heart Failure
Complete the case study on heart failure. Using the information in the case study, write a short essay discussing what plan of care you will create for the patient. Your paper should include a title page and at least 3 references. Minimum word count is 1000 words. Include the following in your essay:

Briefly explain pathophysiology between right and left heart failure.
Explain what diagnostic testing is used for heart failure.
Provide the risk factors.
Provide the clinical manifestations.
Provide 2 nursing diagnosis using the NANDA format NANDA (2012) NANDA Nursing Diagnosis List. (These priority nursing diagnoses for this patient.
Impaired gas exchange, Decreased cardiac output, Noncompliance, Ineffective peripheral tissue perfusion, and Excess fluid volume.

Provide 3 expected outcomes-do not give definition but actual nursing interventions to help a patient with heart failure

Provide 4 nursing interventions-do not give definition but actual expected outcomes that a nurse wants to see and obtain while caring for a heart failure client
Conclude your paper by discussing how you will evaluate your plan of care.

Explain the difference between technical efficiency and economic efficiency. Discuss the relation between the marginal and average productivity curves and the marginal and average variable cost curves.

Medical Care Production and costs
The following Assignments should be completed and submitted to the course faculty via the learning platform for evaluation and grading. Submit your responses to these questions in one WORD document. List the question first, and then your response. Be sure to properly site your sources, both in-text and with a reference list at the conclusion. If
you use an online source to support your answers, you must provide a properly formatted link to the source. You should use APA citation format and make sure your sources are credible. In most cases, your responses should be no more than 400 words.

1. Suppose you are to specify a short-run production function for dental services. What inputs might you include in the production function? Which would be the variable inputs and which the fixed inputs?

2. In your own words, explain the law of diminishing marginal productivity. Be sure to mention the reason this law tends to hold in the short run.

3. Explain the difference between technical efficiency and economic efficiency.

4. Discuss the relation between the marginal and average productivity curves and the marginal and average variable cost curves.

5. What does the elasticity of substitution illustrate? How is it expressed mathematically? What two factors affect its magnitude?

6. Explain the difference between the explicit and implicit costs of production. Cite an example of each.

7. What does economies of scope mean? Provide an example.

8. Explain the reasoning behind the U shape of the long-run average total cost curve. Why might this cost curve shift upward?

9. Describe the two limitations associated with the cost theory provided in this chapter when it is applied to explain the behavior of medical firms.

10. Suppose that you are interested in comparing the costs of producing inpatient services at Saving Grace Hospital with those at ACME Hospital. Further suppose that the two hospitals annually admit about 24,000 and 32,000 patients, respectively, at average short-run total costs per admission of roughly $11,000 and $12,000.

A. Why may these average STC figures not represent the economic cost of providing inpatient services at these two hospitals? Explain fully.

B. Using cost theory as presented in the text, identify and fully discuss four other factors that might explain why ACME Hospital has higher average costs of production than Saving Grace Hospital.

Discuss the right of a provider to refuse to participate in a patient’s care based on cultural, ethical, and religious beliefs. Explain how the resolution of this issue affects public health outcomes. How has this issue been addressed in your past, current, or desired workplace?

Beliefs and Practice
Discuss the right of a provider to refuse to participate in a patient’s care based on cultural, ethical, and religious beliefs. Explain how the resolution of this issue affects public health outcomes. How has this issue been addressed in your past, current, or desired workplace? Do you feel this approach has been effective?.

You may use the Stein’s and Kodjak’s articles in the Studies for this unit as a basis for the conversation.

Include two academic references in your post. Use the current APA style and formatting appropriate to the type of reference you provide.

How have you seen this issue play out in your past, current, or desired workplace? What steps can be taken to ensure this issue is resolved in a fair and equitable manner?

Area of Interest Power Point Presentation
For this presentation, select an area of nurse practitioner (NP) practice that is of interest to you and in which you would like to see a practice change occur. Conduct a review of literature to see what is currently known about the topic and to find research support for the practice change you are recommending. The topic is: Early assessment for health-related concerns (i.e. depression in teenagers; suicide prevention for the elderly).

Create an 8-12 slide PowerPoint Presentation that includes the following:

1-Introduction: slide should identify concepts to be addressed and sections of the presentation. Include speaker’s notes that explain, in more detail, what will be covered.

2-Evidence-based projects: slide should explain the general importance of master’s-prepared nurses engaging in evidence-based projects related to nursing practice and profession. Provide speaker’s notes with additional detail and support from at least one outside scholarly source (not the textbook or course lesson).

3-Conceptual Model: slide should provide an illustration of a conceptual model that could be used to develop an evidence-based project. Possible models include The John’s Hopkins or Advancing Research and Clinical Practice through Close Collaboration (ARCC) Models or you may select another model you find in the literature. In the speaker’s notes, explain how the model would be applied to the development of an evidence-based project. Provide support from at least one outside scholarly source (not the textbook or course lesson).

4-Area of Interest: identify an area of interest related to NP practice in which a practice change may be needed. Slide should identify the area of interest and what is currently known on the topic. Speaker’s notes more fully explain what is currently known and should provide rationale for why the area of interest is important to NP practice. Provide support from at least one outside scholarly source (not the textbook or course lesson).

5-Issue/concern and recommendation for change: slide should identify a specific concern related to your general area of interest and your recommendation for a practice change. Speaker’s notes should more fully explain the recommended change and rationale for the change. Recommendation should be supported by at least one outside scholarly source (not the textbook or course lesson).

6-Factors Influencing Change: slide should identify at least 2 internal and external factors that could impact your ability to implement your recommended change. Speaker’s notes should more fully explain how the factors you’ve identified would support or impede the implementation of your recommendations. Factors may be based on personal experience or on information you found in your research. If the identified factors come from the literature, provide reference citations to support your ideas.

7-NONPF Competencies: slide identifies at least two NONPF Competencies that are relevant to an evidence-based project related to your area of interest. Speaker’s notes should explain how the competencies relate to your area of interest. Provide support from at least one outside scholarly source (not the textbook or course lesson).

Homework 3
West Chicago is almost 100% urban and 0% rural so a large variety of patients and medical students are either serviced and taught at Rush University Medical Center.
Rush University’s Strategic plan to contribute to the community is displayed through development of their faculty which includes, building the actual University that houses students who are learning to become medical instructors and providers in a urban community, giving those same students career development and mentoring programs, giving hands on and online opportunities to learn and most importantly they embrace their social responsibility of the community. Rush takes initiative in the community engagement and the commitment to care towards the community, “this commitment encompasses multiple community partnerships, and active engagement in programs to address social determinants that impact access to care and optimal health and well-being. The cornerstone of Rush University’s community engagement is our commitment to create health care professionals who are dedicated to providing compassionate, collaborative and scientifically excellent patient care. “(Rush University Medical Center 2017)
What types of possible emerging opportunities exist for the organization to expand its
coverage/add new services?
Community participation and service are very significant to Rush University’s cultural existence. Rush’s Community Service Initiatives Program gives Chicago residents, faculty, students, fellows and staff an opportunity to use their specific skill per department to improve the community. RCSIP, The Rush Community Service Initiatives Program, was created in 1991 only to expand into an inter-occupational program by allowing volunteers from all of Rush Universities College’s. The services provided from the program include; providing health care to underserved community members, giving the community education on disease prevention and healthy life decisions, and extending the education of career opportunities offered in the health science industry while also providing the proper training and preparation. RCSIP is giving the community Rush’s health improvement plan first hand for the health needs of the community.
