Question 1
At the opening of the SDG Action Weekend in September 2023, United Nations SecretaryGeneral Antonio Guterres said, “… the [United Nations Sustainable Development Goals] are in trouble. Today, only 15 per cent of the targets are on track, with many going into reverse. The SDGs need a global rescue plan…we all need to step up.” (see https://www.un.org/sg/en/content/sg/speeches/2023-09-16/secretary-generals-remarks-theopening-of-the-sdg-action-weekend)

(b) Analyse whether Singapore has “rescued” and/or “stepped up” for any two (2) of the SDGs identified in your answer for Question 1(a) above by highlighting relevant government policies or actions, and appraise how effective Singapore has been in its efforts to “rescue” and/or “step up” for these SDGs.
(c) Propose how a business organisation in Singapore can help create positive impact on any three (3) SDGs (which have not been discussed in your answers for Questions 1(a) and 1(b) above), explaining the SDGs identified and providing relevant examples illustrating the positive impact that can be created on the SDGs identified.
